Barb Lyon

President and COO

In the early days of her career Barb began to develop her operational expertise at FedEx, managing express operations with a staff of over 250 employees. She continued her ascent to Managing Director, overseeing 19 locations in Northern California and Nevada. Her district had 1000 employees at the time. Her 12 years at FedEx were outstanding; however, she was lured away to the technology boom in 1997.

Since 1997, Barb has honed her operational expertise at several different companies leveraging technology. She has built teams and business processes from the ground up to manage customer support for consumer products, technical support for software as a service, distribution of products, transportation of goods, account management for Enterprise customers and service delivery for professional service consultants. Some of these companies were Cookexpress, Parachute, Bigstep, and eCargoservice. At Sapias, besides running the account management, customer training and support teams, Barb helped assimilate the organization’s business processes after an acquisition by Wireless Matrix.

As a member of the Executive team for these companies, Barb has learned the key components of what makes a company successful and what it takes to get a company to be fully operational and delivering on its promise.

In addition, as a consultant Barb worked with both small businesses to develop their business processes and client management strategies as well as large corporations to refine their distribution and customer experience strategies. Clients included Heritage Landscapes, Finisar and CitrixOnline to name a few.

Customer experience and Operational excellence have been the focal point of Barb’s career.

Barb has joined her former colleague to form BABLEAP because she believes that the combined experience of the team can provide tremendous value for other young, companies seeking to move to the next level in execution and market outreach.

Barb attended University of California at Santa Barbara where she earned her B.A. and Secondary Education Teaching Credential. She is also a Certified Mediator.
